Anti-Bullying and Pro-Kindness Program | More Info

PTA is bringing back the fabulous Carolyn Brown for an anti-bullying and pro-kindness workshop on February 28. Carolyn will be presenting 👟 Hey Dude, Nice Shoes 🥾 to our kiddos during the day. Then we invite all adults to join us in the Naumann cafeteria and virtually at 6:00 pm for the parent workshop. Carolyn is motivating, entertaining, knowledgeable, and a great storyteller! Her material is new so if you saw her back in 2019, you will definitely want to attend again.

Two great ways to attend:

Next Year's PTA Board Needs YOU! | More Info & Important Dates

The Nominating Committee is now campaigning for nominations for next year's PTA board. The pandemic has been hard on volunteerism and we have many positions to fill.

Is there one that you might be interested in? Does one fit your skill set? Nominate yourself for any that look appealing! It might feel like a leap of faith and that’s okay. Brian Tracy, author of Eat That Frog!, is quoted as saying, “Every great move forward in your life begins with a leap of faith, a step into the unknown.”

Also, if you know someone who would be a great asset to our school by serving as a PTA board member or chair, please nominate them!No one in PTA has ever said, “Oh wow! We have too many people who want to help!” We truly do need everyone to dig deep and find a way to help out next year.

New PTA Website is Here | Create a Login

Current PTA members' info has already been uploaded but accounts must now be created by each family's primary user in order to interact with the new site.

On the new site you can:

  • Access a directory of PTA members*
  • Easily manage memberships for each person in your family
  • Sign up to help with item collections (i.e. stock the lounge) and/or other donations
  • Subscribe to a calendar of events

*Only current PTA members have access to the online directory. You have control of what info is displayed, if any for each family member.

The website also contains info about:

  • all of the programs & events that PTA offers
  • a list of board members/chairs with contact info
  • instructions about how to sign up to be an official LISD volunteer
  • community resources for free food and clothing.

Check it out and let us know what you think!

Special Thank You

There are some amazing people that we want to thank from the bottom of our hearts for tirelessly leading the planning for the recent Winter and Valentine's class parties - the 2021-22 Room Representatives! Students were treated to much-needed fun and games in December and again on February 14. Room reps, we SEE you and appreciate you!

❤️ And, how about that adorable sweater Mrs. K wore again? â¤ï¸

Spanish Language Program at Naumann | Volunteer

The Spanish Language Program is looking for energetic parent volunteers to teach basic, elementary-level Spanish at Naumann from March - May (grades K-5). The commitment is only 30 minutes per week and volunteers do not need to be fluent. Volunteers will get to teach songs, play games and will be provided teaching materials to help them lead other activities. If interested, please contact Nerida Martin, Spanish Program Coordinator at Naumann. More info about the Volunteer Spanish Language Program can be found on the LISD website.

Free COVID-19 Testing Site Opens | Appointments

An additional COVID-19 testing site is now available at Running Brushy Middle School. Curative is taking appointments and walk-ins at its kiosk located on the campus. Info about services and hours is available on the Curative website.

Black History Month

February is Black History Month, where we honor the contributions of African Americans who have helped shape the nation. We introduced important figures such as Jane Cooke Wright (1919-2013), a cancer researcher who contributed significantly to chemotherapy. The sum of her work revolutionized cancer research and how physicians treat cancer.

Be sure to ask your Knight to check out our bulletin board and displays around the school to learn about these important Black American contributors in history!
