Bike/Walk to School Days

Naumann PTA brings awareness to national Bike and Walk to School days to promote safe bicycling and pedestrian skills. The benefits are three-fold:

 

Social - appreciate things we don’t notice while driving—listening to the sounds of the neighborhood, seeing friends and neighbors and feeling connected with the community

 

Healthy Habits - enables children to incorporate the regular physical activity they need each day

 

Cleaner Environment - help reduce the amount of air pollutants emitted by automobiles

Book Fairs

We are looking for someone to lead this area in 2023-24. If you are interested please contact us!

 

Naumann PTA hosts one fair each year. In addition to supporting literacy, the book fair supports our library by returning a portion of the proceeds to our school for library books and other needs. Stay tuned to Facebook and Twitter for the latest info.

Watch d.o.g.s. - Dads of great students

The Dads of Great Students WATCH D.O.G.S.® program is one of the nation’s largest and most respected school-based, family, and community engagement, organizations designed and developed by educators, experts and parent & guardian volunteers over more than two decades.

 

Grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures are all welcome to participate!

LISD PTA Clothes Closet 

The Clothes Closet is a service provided by the LISD Council of PTAs. Anyone with children in LISD schools can shop, no qualifications or vouchers required.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Naumann is proud to have an active inclusion committee dedicated to serving ALL Naumann Elementary students. Programs include, Black History Month, National Hispanic Heritage Month, Kids First, Mix It Up at Lunch and more.

 

Please reach out if there is a specific area that you are experienced with or passionate about and/or if you have access to resources that would facilitate programming. We are working to expand the offerings for our students and our community. National PTA has a wealth of resources and information on this important subject.

Little Free Library

Just like the little, free libraries you see around the neighborhood, Naumann has one outside the front doors! If you see something you'd like to read, take it. When you're finished, return it to the Little Free Library or return another book you've already read. Donations are welcome.

Room Reps

Room reps provide planning for classroom parties and other teacher support. This role gives you a chance to directly impact the experience that students and families have in their class. Room reps organize and share the class directory, plan Winter and Valentine parties and are the point person for any requests for help that teachers have.
